Phaleonopsis Care Instructions
Water:    Keep moderately moist, allowing the potting mix to dry slightly between waterings. Remember, the natural habitat of the moth orchid is growing as an epiphyte in tropical asian trees whereby they have a great deal of humidity and are watered often but completely drain after each watering. Grow the plant in medium light but no direct sunlight in summer. Use a fir bark potting medium but do not allow it to dry out completely.
Light:   60% Shade. Ideal as a patio plant but must be weathered indoors or in a green house.
Temperature:   Ideal temperatures are 70 to 80 degrees during the day and 60 to 65 degrees at night.
Tips:   Fertilize with high quality orchid food per label directions. (Scotts makes a good one) The flowers are long lasting when cut. Flower spikes left on the plant and in healthy growing conditions will last up to 4 months. Produce a second flower spike by cutting off the flower spike just above the first non-flowering node after the flowers fade.
